FAQs Frequently Asked Questions about Website Design and SEO
What do you want to know about our web design or SEO services?
What Does a Website cost?
See our own Pricing page for rough guidelines HERE.
However, in short, for us to give you any sort of accurate quote for designing your website, we would need to talk with you.
This is to get to understand you and what you want to achieve.
- Do you want to look professional?
- Generate pre-qualified leads?
- Increase sales?
- Compete with some competitor?
- Put off tyre kickers and time wasters?
- Save time?
- Recruit staff?
- Who is your target market?
- Do you already have a website?
- What is it not doing for you?
- Do you already have a brand, a logo, a look?
- Are you looking for a Dacia Duster or a Lexus RX? They will both go from A to B, but the performance is different, as is the road holding, how it looks to people and how comfortable it is to drive. So, the budget required is quite different.
Are you the right web design agency fit for us?
Are we the right fit for your project or your firm. Are you a good fit for us ? This is a great question. The only way to find out for sure is to have a chat with us. Even if we are ideal on paper, you might not like us 🙁
Yes that would be sad, but it is better to find out early, rather than in the middle of the project.
We can only take on two new clients a month, so we will be very honest with you from day 1.
No hard sales pitches from us, just good honest advice for you, every time.
We use our own website to filter out callers too, which usually ensures we get to talk with the right fit firms for us.
Our focus is in the Construction sector, however we have a lot of experience in the Financial and Legal sectors. This is where we spend the vast majority of our time.
We do not work on eCommerce, Retail, Hospitality or Enterprise. Nor do we work with Shopify, Weebly or proprietary platforms other than Squarespace..
How long does a website take to design and develop?
Again, a very common question. The answer is we can design in a week and develop in a week or two, so in theory it is two or three weeks.
Short answer:
One week to do the actual development – maybe two depending on the size of the project.
Longer answer:
4 to 8 weeks on average. Initially, the chosen web design agency needs to ask loads of questions about you, your company, the services or products you offer, your market, what problem do you solve and for whom. How will this website benefit you or your clients? Why are you building it? What results do you expect?
The agency has to determine if you need a website, what type of website do you need at this time, then write up a simple proposal with an estimate for you to consider.
Then if you take them on, they will write up a Brief or plan for you to approve. Then draw a wireframe or sitemap or layout for you to approve. Then they move on to do a mockup design or prototype for your approval, before the go to actual development.
We schedule a week within the 4 weeks from the date we get the final content.
During all that time, you need to gather all your website content as in photos and text, whilst they will be doing discovery for you. You might engage them, just to do the Discovery initially. They cannot or should not start any development until you have given them all the content you want in the website – text and photos for all pages. That content is your responsibility to gather, unless you want to engage them to do that for you too, as an extra service, IF they offer it.
Imagine the web design agency is the builder, so they build the house based on the agreed architects plans or layout, but you have to bring the furniture, as in the content, photos and text etc.
Once the site is built and all the content is added, they move on to testing before actually doing the search engine optimisation before going live and testing
Do you have a Website Design Process?
We have a very defined 10 step website design process, which is explained in detail at https://meanit.ie/our-process/
In short it takes you from where you make an initial enquiry, to us having a short meeting to work out if we are a good match for each other.
If we are a good match, we send you a Proposal for your consideration.
Upon your approval of the proposal, we arrange a longer meeting to get all the information we need from you about the project. We write up a Brief for your approval.
Then draw a Wireframe or sitemap or layout for you to approve. Then they move on to do a mockup Custom Graphic Design for your approval, before the go to actual development.

Do you offer ongoing SEO Search Engine Optimisation?
Yes – we offer initial and/or ongoing SEO Search Engine Optimisation services for firms in Ireland. This is what gets the website found in Google in the first place. And managing it on an ongoing basis will help improve the website over time, to get you more pre-qualified enquiries/leads. Our SEO services act like your sales team. Most of our work is in this area of lead generation.
Without ongoing SEO work the website just drops down the rankings, as your competitors work on their own SEO, to compete with you. Imagine going to the gym, you do feel good and have helped your body, but you have to go regularly to build up and maintain your fitness.
Many of our website clients keep us engaged at some level to manage their ongoing SEO – see our SEO Plans HERE. It depends on how much business you want to generate in any given year. What are your limitations?
Can you guarantee more sales ? Will we definitely make money on our investment ?
We may be able to generate more traffic, better traffic, more enquiries or leads, however it is ultimately still down to you to make or close the sale. If we get 100 more people a month to your door or on your phone, how many can you convert?
And we do not look to get more traffic for traffic sake. That is the sign of an amateur SEO. Anyone can drive traffic to a website, so that is a very poor metric. We focus on getting the right traffic and then converting those visitors. Our job is to make you more a lot more profit than you pay us each month.
If you think footfall or traffic alone will increase your sales, then you can invest in Google Ads to pay people to visit you. Would you go out and around your town handing all the people €10 each to visit your shop?
Do you have expertise in my Industry? Do you need to have it?
Whilst SEO is a science, therefore there is no need to have previous experience in a specific industry, in order to work with you. However, it does help if your SEO Agency understands your industry and your typical clients, and more importantly your own business.
Our focus and experience is mainly in the Construction, Financial and Legal sectors in Ireland.
We are probably not a good fit for you if you are in Retail, eCommerce, Hospitality or large Enterprise firms.
Do you offer ongoing website support and maintenance?
Yes – very much so. We offer ongoing website support plans, maintenance, training and search engine optimisation. Tell us what you would like us to do for you.
In theory anybody can build or develop a website of some sort, there are loads of free or low cost options. No, they are not all effective. However, with over 20 years experience in website design and a great Irish web design team, we know and understand the wed development tools. And which ones to use for your firms website. We never build poor websites or deliver a poor website for small money. We have to be able to stand over our website work. Is that old fashioned? Maybe so, but it is our way of working. We do not cut corners. We value your trust. We get so many referrals from existing clients and this is why.
Do you have an hourly web design rate?
We do have an hourly rate for Ad Hoc work which is €125 whereas our rate for our clients is just €75.
Generally, we do not look to do Ad Hoc work on sites we did not develop, as we do not know what is behind the scenes.
Clients must be on one of our Care Plans otherwise how can we work on a site that is not being cared for.
If it crops up we start by doing a Website Audit Report to find out what you have and what needs fixing.
There are generous grants of 50% available for building or upgrading or marketing a website – ask us about them.
Do you offer eCommerce website design?
We can do eCommerce for Manufacturers and Professional Services Businesses in Ireland, where we can guarantee a return on your website investment. However we do avoid eCommerce for Enterprise or Retail, Hospitality or Gaming. There are other agencies who specialise in this area.
Unfortunately, whilst we can certainly build such websites, we find that it is a very competitive market for retailers, so it is hard for us to ensure a good return on any investment.
You would be competing with so many massive platforms from Amazon to Google, to Facebook and many more. Therefore the required investment is usually a lot more than most people can envisage.
The eCommerce sites we have developed, perform well, deliver a good return on investment and are the right option for each client. But we do not want to do traditional ecommerce. Our focus is in the Construction sector, and we tend to do work in the Financial and Legal sectors. That is pretty much it.
