They ask you to pay for any highlighted listing and when they show results in a search they then show the local competitors just below. Try searching Accountants in your Town and when the list is offered click on any one and see the so called “Related Businesses” featured below. All the local competition listed neatly for the visitors consideration. Plus if you have a Basic entry the others can look more important, because they pay more.
Having an entry of any sort in Golden Pages can cost you potential leads and fees and distract you from building up your own web presence. Only advertise in a medium that offers metrics to show you what you get back from your spend. “You can’t manage what you can’t measure.” In Google Analytics we trust, all others must bring data. 🙂
Late to the whole internet party Golden Pages now also trades as FCR Media to offer a website of some sort for clients who want a website. With their database of clients, they get quite a few signups for this service.
